Flikdate Raises $350K in Funding

flickdateFlikdate, a Los Angeles, CA-based mobile video dating app, raised $350k in funding.

mbloom, backed by the Hawaii Strategic Development Corporation (HSDC), made the investment along with two other parallel investments.

The company intends to use the funds to launch the second version of the app incorporating a new video platform, real-time chat, and video messaging.

Co.founded by CEO Nick Bicanic and Dominika Wolski, Flikdate has developed patent pending video and virtual currency technology designed to encourage discovery of new connections and relationships. A built-in gamification flirting process uses familiarity of photos into video format to generate heightened anticipation and connections.
According to a note, the technology currently focuses on the dating and relationship space, with the potential to expand beyond into online chat and messaging, the gaming space, and other markets.

Along with the launch of the new version, Flikdate will be launching Los Angeles as its first major metropolitan center with partnerships to roll out as it expands into other cities.
