Distractify Raises $7M in Series A Funding

Distractify, a New York-based media platform that allows people to create and discover content, raised $7m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Lerer Ventures, Advancit Capital and the CAA.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the team, move into new verticals and launch mobile products.

Founded in 2013 by Quinn Hu, CEO, Distractify leverages social platforms like Facebook, Reddit, Flipboard and Stumbleupon to allow creators to share their stories. Launched in October 2013, the company currently has 10 full-time writers on staff, and over 50 million unique visitors a month.
