Coursmos Raises $530K in Seed Funding

Coursmos, a San Francisco, CA-based micro-learning platform, raised $530k in seed funding.

Backers included Eugene Medvednikov and venture capital firm Imperious Group.

The company, which has raised a total of $680k, will use the funds to expand the team and develop new features including:
– A course recommendation system based on users’ history and interests
– Better lesson search engine capabilities by converting video content to text to make it searchable
YouTube integration (uploading YouTube educational content to Coursmos)
– In-browser video-editing features for instructors to produce micro-courses for the platform.
Led by CEO Roman Kostochka, Coursmos is an educational platform focused on kids of today distracted by multiple screens. Its online courses are broken down into minutes-long lessons that can be viewed on smartphones.
