Orbotix, a Boulder, Colorado-based developer of connected toys, raised $15.5m in funding.
Backers included Shea Ventures, Grishin Robotics, and Foundry Group.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the products and the platform and expand operations.
Founded by Ian Bernstein (CTO) and Adam Wilson and led by Paul Berberian (CEO), Orbotix combines Consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and robotic hardware to create connected toys (Sphero and Ollie) that bring innovative mobile and augmented reality games to smartphone.
