Nix Hydra, a Los Angeles, CA-based software entertainment company dedicated to making interactive products for young women, raised $5m in venture funding.
The round was led by Foundry Group with participation from new angel investor Mike Lazerow (Buddy Media CEO and Cofounder).
The company, which has now raised more than $5.6M in total, intends to use the funds to further develop the Egg Baby franchise and expand into international markets, as well as to develop brand new IP.
Established by Lina Chen and Naomi Ladizinsky in 2012, Nix Hydra offers Egg Baby, a virtual pet egg that hatches into a variety of gift-giving creatures depending on how the player treats the egg, and Hot Guy Alarm Clock.
