LearnSprout, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of data analytics for K-12 educators, closed $4.2m in Series A funding.
Backers included Formation 8, Samsung Ventures and Justin Tan.
The company intends to use the funds to add more features and polish the user experience.
Founded in January of 2012 by Franklyn Chien, CEO, Anthony Wu, CTO, and Joe Woo, CPO, LearnSprout provides K-12 educators with a free big data analytics platform to help identify historical trends, track college readiness and spot at-risk students.
