E-Go aeroplanes Secures £950K in Second Financing

e-goE-Go aeroplanes, a Conington, Cambridge, UK-based maker of lightweight carbon fiber aeroplanes, secured £950k in second financing.

Backers included Angel CoFund, Marshall of Cambridge and sixty backers via the crowdfunding platform SyndicateRoom.

The company intends to use the funds for development and expansion.

Led by Giotto Castelli, co-founder, Director, and Chief Designer, and Malcolm Bird, executive chairman, e-Go aeroplanes is a manufacturer of lightweight carbon fibre aeroplanes. The company had the prototype’s first successful flight on 17th October 2013. Now, trials and ground testing of continue with first customer deliveries planned for the first quarter of 2015 – at a sales cost of around £50,000 + VAT.
Twenty investors backed e-Go aeroplane’s launch in 2011, among them UK aerospace leader Marshall of Cambridge.
