Drivy, a Paris, France-based car rental startup, raised €6m in Series A funding.
Backers included Index Ventures and Alven Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for product development, personnel hiring and European expansion.
Launched in Paris by Paulin Dementhon and Nicolas Mondollot in December 2010, Drivy is a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace in Europe that allows car owners rent out their car to their neighbours. The service, which includes specific insurance coverage to ensure safe rentals, operates throughout France with 16,000 cars shared on Drivy between 250,000 members.
