Augment Raises $1.5M in Funding

Augment, a Paris, France-based app that allows users to visualize products in augmented reality, raised $1.5m in funding.

Backers were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the international growth of its app (it will open a commercial office in Chicago this summer) and to finance its R&D program to speed up the development of its 3D augmented reality engine.

Founded in October 2011 by Jean-François Chianetta, CEO, Augment provides a SaaS (Software as a Service) and mobile platform that enables sales reps to simulate their products in augmented reality in an realistic way and in real size, directly in within their clients’ environment.
The company has already over a hundred clients (including the European division of L’Oréal Professional Products) under subscription in several industries (brands, agencies, packaging and POP display manufacturers, architecture firms).
The app is available on iPad, iPhone and Android for free.
