Zoobean, an Arlington, VA-based startup that creates personalized selections of children’s apps, books and reading guides, received an investment from the CIT GAP Funds.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban invested in Zoobean, as well.
The company intends to use the funds to increase marketing and continue product development.
Led by CEO Felix Brandon Lloyd, Zoobean help parents of young children identify the best apps, books and resources for building their children’s literacy, via a team of curators who rate and tag products. Customers enter a child’s interests, and the system generates personalized recommendations.
The company also provides reading guides and tools that facilitate collaboration between teachers and families.
