SeedInvest Raises $2M in Series A Funding

seedinvestSeedInvest, a New York City-based equity crowdfunding platform, raised $2m in a targeted $3m Series A round.

Scout Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Avenue A Ventures, Krillion Ventures and Archer Gray have backed the company via its own crowdfunding platform. In conjunction with the funding, Bradley Harrison, a managing partner at Scout Ventures, joined SeedInvest’s board of directors. The remainder is open to individual accredited investors (http://www.seedinvest.com/seedinvest).

The company intends to use the funds to grow its team.

Launched in February 2013 by James Han and Ryan Feit, CEO, SeedInvest is an equity crowdfunding platform that provides startup investment opportunities to accredited investors for free. It recently helped Vengo, a high-tech digital vending machine, raise $720k from a combination of venture funds, family offices and individual angel investors.
