Savioke, a Sunnyvale, CA-based creator of autonomous robots for the services industry, raised $2m in seed financing.
The round was led by Morado Venture Partners, with participation from AME Cloud Ventures, Google Ventures, and individual investors.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its inaugural robot, focusing on the services industry. It plans to begin customer trials later this year.
Established in 2013 and led by CEO Steve Cousins, Savioke aims to improve the lives of people by developing and deploying robotic technology in human environments.
The company’s robot will utilize and build upon ROS, the open source robot operating system.
