Julep Beauty, a Seattle, WA-based beauty brand which has taken a social approach to product development, raised $30m in Series C financing.
Backers included Azure Capital, Madrona Venture Group, Altimeter Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and Maveron.
The company, which has now raised $56m, will use the new funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2007 and led by CEO Jane Park, Julep launches over 300 Julep branded, toxin-free nail, color cosmetics and skincare products each year. It creates new products based on crowd sourced customer feedback via online focus groups, real-world brainstorming sessions, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest – and then integrates this into the development process to launch nail polishes, skincare products, color cosmetics, and beauty tools.
In May, the company will release The Plié Wand, a nail polishing tool created and funded by customers.
