Jaunt, a Palo Alto, CA-based provides an end-to-end solution for creating cinematic VR experiences, raised $6.8m in venture funding.
Backers included Redpoint Ventures, Peter Gotcher, Blake Krikorian, SV Angel and British Sky Broadcasting. In conjunction with the funding, Tim Haley, partner at Redpoint Ventures, Peter Gotcher, Chairman of Dolby and DigiDesign Founder, and Stuart Murphy, Director of Entertainment at Sky, will join Jaunt’s board of directors.
Led by Jens Christensen, CEO, and Arthur van Hoff, CTO, Jaunt just released its technology which uses advanced computational photography to enable immersive VR to be applied to live-action content. The platform provides directors and videographers with the necessary hardware, software, tools, and applications to enable cinematic VR and allow consumers to enjoy immersive, 360-degree 3D video and audio experiences.
