GrabTaxi (known as MyTeksi in Malaysia), an automated smartphone taxi booking platform, raised an undisclosed amount of funding.
Backers included Vertex Venture Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings and a group of angel investors from Malaysia.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations into new markets and imrove its position in the region.
Led by Founder and CEO Anthony Tan, GrabTaxi provides a taxi booking mobile app featuring a “Share your Ride” function, which allows users to share their journey through social media or messaging apps with friends and family. It also allows users to rate their drivers and view their information.
