GameChanger Media Raises $6.8M in Series B Funding

GameChanger Media, a New York City-based platform for amateur sports teams and their fan communities, raised $6.8m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Trilogy Equity Partners with participation from existing backers Tenfore Holdings and Costanoa Venture Capital. In conjunction with the funding, John Stanton from Trilogy Equity Partners will join the company’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to hires new software design and engineering people (read here) to add tools for coaches and fans, scale its technical infrastructure and expand into sports beyond its current baseball, softball and basketball offerings.

Led by CEO and co-founder Ted Sullivan, GameChanger provides coaches with a mobile and web platform for digital scorekeeping, stats, scheduling and communication with players, families, scouts and local media.
The app is free for coaches and scorekeepers while team families and fans receive live scores and email updates for free, or pay to access premium fan content like the animated play-by-play “GameStream” experience or instant game recap stories ($7.99/month or $39.99/year).
Since 2010, over 150,000 amateur teams have scored 4 million games and 1.1 billion plays on the app.
The The 30-person company has partnered brands in amateur sports including Little League Baseball®, Perfect Game, MaxPreps, Babe Ruth, USSSA, National Pro Fastpitch and the Ripken World Series.
