Booktrack Raises US$3M Funding

booktrackBooktrack, a San Francisco, CA-based platform to synchronize soundtracks to eBooks to match the storyline as readers read, raised a US$3m funding round.

The round was led by Sparkbox Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand into the education sector and go mobile.

Led by CEO Paul Cameron, Booktrack has developed Booktrack Studio, which provides self-published writers with the ability to add soundtracks to their ebooks. It creates a unique soundtrack paced to an individual’s reading speed and synchronized to match the storyline while they read.
In five months since its launch, over 300,000 users have created more than 3,600 Booktracks in 30 different languages.
