Vizify, a Portland, OR-based startups that develops a platform for users to create their online interactive profile, has been acquired by Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO).
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Co-founded by CEO Todd Silverstein, CTO Jeff Cutler-Stamm and VP of Engineering Eli Tucker, Vizify allowed users to show their online profiles based on the sites and services they already use, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., and to showcase additional features including content, followers, geographic influence, etc.
The company will shut down the service and will no longer be allowing new signups or purchases of paid plans as part of the transition to Yahoo.
In the announcement, they did not reveal details but the fact that they will “….bring a more visual approach to data at Yahoo“.
Vizify participated in both the Portland Seed Fund and TechStars (Seattle) and raised $1.2m from Jonathan Sposato, Tim Draper of DFJ, Bill McAleer of Voyager Capital, and Matt Shobe (co-founder of Feedburner), among others (read here).
