WelVU Raises $1.25M in Seed Funding

welvuWelVU, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of personalized patient education technology, raised $1.25m in seed funding.

Backers were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to develop product features, accelerate marketing and sales efforts, as well as for support client deployments.

Led by Mark Friess, founder and CEO, WelVU has just launched an integrated enterprise healthcare patient engagement platform which creates a multimedia educational experience for the patient to reference and share after they have left the exam room or hospital.
Physicians, nurses, and educators create point-of-care educational videos and prescribe those videos directly to the patient for review on a smartphone, tablet, or desktop. The resulting multimedia experience extends the productivity of face-to-face care encounters and allows organizations to begin measuring data around patients’ engagement with educational content.
