TaxJar Raises $600K in Seed Funding

taxjarTaxJar, a San Diego, CA-based provider of tax management services for online retailers, raised $600k in seed funding.

Backers included:
Dan Rose, vice president of partnerships at Facebook;
Harris Barton, principal at H Barton Asset Management; and
Roy Rubin, co-founder and COO at Magento.

The company will use the funds to further develop its customer acquisition and product development efforts to include a tax rate lookup service, sales tax return e-filing, and new data sources.

Led by Mark Faggiano, CEO and co-founder, TaxJar is a provider of cloud-based sales tax automation solution for a broad range of online sellers, from smaller merchants selling under $100K a year online on a single site or marketplace, to mid-market merchants selling $10m per year online across multi-channels and collecting millions each year in sales tax.
