Sigfox Raises €15M in VC Funding

logo-sigfoxSigfox, a Labège, France-based provider of global cellular connectivity for the Internet of Things, raised €15m in venture capital funding.

Backers included Idinvest Partners, the FSN PME, Fonds Ambition Numérique, Elaia Partners, Intel Capital, Ixo Private Equity and Partech.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and international deployment as well as hire new people (read here).

Co-founded by Ludovic Le Moan, CEO, and Christophe Fourtet, CSO, Sigfox provides global cellular connectivity for the Internet of Things, fully dedicated to low-throughput communications. Its solution is based on an antenna & base station infrastructure that is completely independent of existing networks, such as the telecommunications networks.
The company has offices in Paris, Madrid and San Francisco.
