SameGrain Secures $800K in Seed Funding

SameGrainSameGrain, Inc., a Baltimore, Maryland “privacy first” social discovery startup, secured $800k in seed funding.

The round was led by Bill Miller of Legg Mason, who will be joining SameGrain’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds for product development, team expansion, and marketing efforts.

Led by Anne Balduzzi, Founder & CMO, and Eric Eller, CEO and co-founder, SameGrain provides a website and app platform that uses a proprietary algorithm and patent pending technology to privately match individuals that share similar backgrounds, beliefs, health issues, life experiences, habits, professions, interests, etc. It enables people meeting for the first time to immediately discover what they share in common via their mobile devices and locate roommates, travel companions, colleagues, teammates, pet owners, musicians, etc.
The company is currently meeting with universities and organizations to discuss platform partnership opportunities in order to allow them to leverage SameGrain’s algorithm to match students, alumni, members, attendees or anyone within a large group.
