Rover.com Raises $12M in Series C Funding

rover.com-logoRover.com, a Seattle, WA-based online community that connects dog owners with dog sitters, raised $12m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Menlo Ventures with participation from existing investors Madrona Venture Group, Foundry Group and PetcoTM. In conjunction with the funding, Menlo Ventures’ Sunil Raman and Venky Ganesan will join Rover.com’s board of directors.

The company, which has now raised $25m (have a look at related news), will use the funds to hire new people (read here) and expand its product offering.

Led by Aaron Easterly, CEO, Rover is a large online pet services community with over 25,000 sitters in the United States and service available in major cities. The platform offers free pet and sitter insurance, 24/7 vet consultation, mobile apps, photo sharing, videos of stay highlights, sitter background checks and customized tags.
The company has an online community that now totals about one million members nationwide.
