Meducation Completes $1M Seed Funding

Meducation, a Birmingham, U.K.-based medical education network for medical students and professionals, completed a $1m seed funding round.

Technology Strategy Board provided $300k with private investors injecting the remainder.

The company intends to use the funds to grow the team and further develop the platform.

Developed by Dr Alastair Buick and Jeremy Walker, Meducation is the first network specifically aimed at medical students and professionals. It offers shared learning resources and support for members around the world, including tutorials, videos, images, slideshows and podcasts. Members can also contribute to the Meducation blog to describe experiences in detail, while a Q&A service lets them get answers to specific queries from other community members.

Meducation is used by more than 35,000 medical students and professionals worldwide and is building partnerships with medical organisations, publishers and universities.
