Shape Security Raises $40M in Series C Funding

shape_security_logoShape Security, a Mountain View, CA-based web security startup, raised $40m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) with participation from Sierra Ventures and existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Venrock, Google Ventures, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt’s TomorrowVentures, and Allegis Capital.

The company will use the new funds to continue to enhance the capabilities of its solutions.

Led by Derek Smith, Shape Security, CEO Shape recently came out of stealth to release its flagship product, the ShapeShifter, a botwall that protects enterprises against dangerous cyber attacks by using real-time polymorphism to turn websites into constantly moving targets and disable attacks from malware, botnets and scripts.
