According to TechCrunch, Rise, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a diet coaching app, raised $2.3m in seed funding.
Backers included FLOODGATE, Cowboy Ventures, Google Ventures, and Greylock Partners.
Led by Suneel Gupta, CEO, and Stuart Parmenter, CTO, Rise allows mobile users to get an expert nutrition coach, a real person who gives personalized, daily advice and help them achieve goals all via a mobile phone.
It recently launched an iOS app.
