Jack Erwin Raises $2M

Jack Erwin, a NYC-based online shoe retailer, raised a $2m Series A funding.

The round was led by Crosslink Capital with participation from Shasta Ventures and Menlo Ventures.

The company intends tu use the funds to deepen its men’s shoe collection and improve its online platform.

Co-founded by Ariel Nelson and Lane Gerson, Jack Erwin was launched in October 2013 to offer well-designed, well-crafted dress shoes at fair prices. Each pair in the core collection is blake constructed, made with full leather uppers and comes complete with hand-painted leather outsoles, full leather lining and padded insoles.
Prior to this round of funding, Jack Erwin raised a seed round from angel investors and currently employs 6 people. The company operates a showroom in New York City and distributes product directly from its logistics warehouse in Brooklyn, with shoes being manufactured in Portugal at a third-generation family-owned factory.
