Agile Group, a Stockton, UK-based IT and communications service provider, received a six figure investment.
Backers included Northstar Ventures‘ Finance for Business North East Accelerator Fund, Lloyds TSB, which provided an Enterprise Finance Guarantee loan, and Let’s Grow, the £30m Regional Growth Fund programme, which provided a grant.
The company will use the funds to expand its workforce, create a data centre and provide a new managed Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service to businesses.
Set up in 2009 and led by CEO Simon Scotchbrook, Agile Group provides ICT services to North-Eeast SMEs and is expanding its offering to offer broadband and telecoms to mobile platforms, such as ships. Markets include outsourcing and logistic, ICT and telecoms systems, network infrastructure and business software.
The company works with large partners including BT Openreach, O2, Cisco and Microsoft.
