San Diego-based Origo Ventures, through its Chilean subsidiary Fen Ventures, received a $1m grant from the Chilean government’s investment entity CORFO.
The firm early stage investor will use the capital for its investment activities in Chile’s startup companies for the next five years.
Led by Derek Footer, Managing Partner, Origo Ventures invests in Latin American technology companies, investing immediately post-accelerator. It was among the first players to understand the importance of Accelerator Startup Chile, which since 2010 has provided startups worldwide up to $40k and six months of support graduating 300 companies a year.
