Maverix Biomics Closes $6M Series A Funding

Maverix Biomics, Inc., a San Mateo CA-based provider of software for sequencing genomic data analysis, closed a $6m Series A funding round.

Backers included Asset Management Ventures, Andreas Bechtolsheim and Andrew Yang. In conjunction with the funding, Louis G. Lange MD PhD, General Partner at Asset Management Ventures and Senior Advisor at Gilead Sciences, and Andrew Yang PhD, Vice President and General Manager of ANSYS, joined the Maverix board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand usage of the Maverix Analytic Platform.

Co-founded by Dave Mandelkern, CEO, and Todd Lowe, Ph.D., Professor of Biomolecular Engineering at UC Santa Cruz, Maverix Biomics provides researchers with the Maverix Analytic Platform, a cloud-based platform to manage, analyze, and visualize genomic data, build Communities of Discovery, and place data in context with the latest public genomic and biomic data from life, including human, plant, animal, or microbial organisms.
The solution is used by life science researchers and scientists in pharmaceutical, molecular diagnostics, clinical, agricultural, and academic research facilities.
