AMCS Group, a Limerick, Ireland-based provider of software the recycling & waste management industry, raised €23.5m in equity funding.
The round was led by Highland Capital Partners Europe, with participation from existing investor Investec. In conjunction with the funding, Fergal Mullen and Tony Zappala, Partners at Highland Capital Partners, will join the board of directors of AMCS.
The company intends to use the funds to continue its international expansion plans and increase its UK presence by creating 20 additional jobs.
Founded by Jimmy Martin and Austin Ryan in 2004, AMCS Group provides the ELEMOS software solution, a tool to track, manage and weigh waste by reading a specialist chip inserted in bins and containers. It is used by 700 clients internationally to provide waste management services to 9m homes.
The company currently employs 135 staff in the UK, Ireland, France, Sweden and North America.
