Soundhawk, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a wireless device that users can personalize to improve their hearing, secured $5.7m in funding.
The round was led by True Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Puneet Agarwal, Partner at True Ventures, joined Soundhawk’s board.
Founded by Dr. Rodney Perkins and led by Michael Kisch, CEO, Soundhawk has been leveraging the light-speed innovation happening in mobile devices and wearable technologies to create a wearable product to improve hearing, which will work with a smartphone app to personalize it to users’ hearing profile and environment.
The new device, under development for several years, is expected to be available in the first half of 2014.
