According to TechCrunch, SeatGeek, a NYC-based provider of a ticket search engine, raised $2.2m in funding.
Backers included existing investors.
The company used the funds to acquire ticketing competitor Fansnap (read the post here) from its parent company Wize Commerce.
Led by Jack Groetzinger and Russ D’Souza, SeatGeek leverages patent-pending technology to forecast the price of event ticket on the secondary market allowing buyers to determine whether to buy a ticket immediately or wait for a price drop and sellers to identify the optimal time to unload their tickets.
