Rancard, a Lagos (Nigeria), Accra (Ghana) and Mauritius -based provider of social recommendations technology for mobile content and services, raised an undisclosed amount of venture capital funding.
The round was led by Peninsula Capital with participation from existing backers Intel Capital and Adlevo Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to grow the team, build partnerships and deepen its technology base.
Founded in 2001 by CEO Kofi Dadzie and Ehizogie Binitie, Rancard provides customers with the tools to create, host, deliver and manage content and services for mobile subscribers. The rancardmobility.com cloud connects more than 70 mobile carriers including MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat, Tigo, Vodafone in over 25 countries and 3 continents, and is used by brands including Google, IrokoTV, BBC, MTV, ESPN, VOA.
