HomeJoy Raises $38M in Series B Funding

homejoyAccording to the blog of the company, HomeJoy, a San Francisco, CA-based online platform for home services, raised $38m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Redpoint Ventures with participation from Google Ventures, Max Levchin, First Round Capital, Oliver Jung and Mike Hirshland. In conjunction with the funding, Joe Kraus, general partner at Google Ventures, and Geoff Yang, founding partner of Redpoint Ventures, joined Homejoy’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to scale operations. To this end, it is hiring in multiple locations (read here).

Led by Adora Cheung, CEO and co-founder, Homejoy operates a web platform for professional home cleaning services ($20/h). The company screen and certify each cleaner in-person and allows users to hire home cleaners in their area within minutes.
Started in July 2012 in Mountain View, CA, the startup is now based in San Francisco, CA, and serves over 31 markets in the United States and Canada.
