International private equity firm BC Partners is to acquire financial information company The Mergermarket Group from Pearson Plc.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
Founded in 1999 and led by Hamilton Matthews, CEO, Mergermarket is a provider of global corporate financial news, intelligence and analysis to advisory firms, investments banks, law firms, hedge funds, private equity firms and corporations.
It has a presence in 65 countries worldwide and a product portfolio that includes brands such as Mergermarket, Debtwire, DealReporter, Infinata, Wealthmonitor, and Xtract Research.
BC Partners plans to help Mergermarket develop its products and services, expand its international customer base, as well as pursue selective acquisition opportunities.
