MediaSpike Raises $5.2M in Series A Funding

mediaspikeMediaSpike, a Mountain View, CA-based provider of a solution for product placement in social and mobile games, raised $5.2m in Series A funding.

The round was led by existing investor CMEA Capital, with participation from existing investors 500 Startups, Google Ventures, and Raptor Capital and new investors Andreessen Horowitz, Inspovation Ventures, and angel investors Jonathan Abrams, Othman Laraki, Rick Marini, and Naval Ravikant, as well as seven people from Plaxo: Redgee Capili, Pete Curley, Ben Golub, Ryan King, Todd Masonis, Joseph Smarr, Haiping Zhau.

Led by Blake Commagere (Founder and CEO) and John McCrea (COO), MediaSpike provides a native monetization platform that allows brands to place relevant, targeted product placement in any social or mobile game.

The company intends to use the funds to add people to the team.
