FlatClub Raises $1.5M in Funding

flatclubFlatClub, a London, UK-based online accommodation network for university alumni and students, raised $1.5m in funding.

Backers included MLC50, Professor Eli Talmor of London Business School and David Wolfe of BrandJourney and InterCapital.
Wolfe will join FlatClub’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to increase the number of listings (from 10,000 to 30,000 rooms and apartments available for short stays within 12 months), as well as to launch a new technology platform to further expand its presence across Europe and the USA.

Formed in 2010 by Nitzan Yudan and Tomer Kalish, FlatClub allows students to connect with people they already trust from existing academic, professional and social networks to rent a place, or find a place to stay up to 6 months.
The company, which is headquartered at Google Campus London and offers accommodations across Europe and the USA, now has 50,000 verified members, and features properties from alumni of more than 50 of top universities, including London School of Economics, London Business School, University College London, King’s College and New York University.
