Apartment List Raises $15M in Series A Funding

ApartmentListApartment List, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that operates an apartment search engine, raised $15m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Matrix Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Dana Stalder, general partner at Matrix Partners, joined Apartment List’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to digitize the rental process and expand its mobile services.

Launched in September 2011 and led by John Kobs, CEO, Apartment List operates a U.S. apartment search engine which consolidates properties from hundreds of listing services.
It is currently visited by more than 1.5 million people monthly on a national scale.

The company, which acquired RentAdvisor in October 2013, has a team of 55 employees nationwide.
