Alpine Data Labs, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of Advanced Analytics Software for Big Data and Hadoop, closed a $16m Series B round of funding.
Backers included Sierra Ventures, Mission Ventures, UMC Capital (NYSE: UMC) (TWSE: 2303) and Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH (RBVC).
The company intends to use the funds for product development, marketing and customer support.
Led by Joe Otto, CEO, Alpine Data Labs offers a platform for advanced analytics for Big Data and Hadoop, which allows data scientists and business analysts to work with large data sets, develop, refine models and collaborate at scale without having to use code or download software.
The technology is being implemented by global industry leaders like A.T Kearney, Havas Media, Sony, Nike and Barclays.
