IBM Acquires Xtify

Xtify, a New York-based provider of cloud mobile messaging tools for businesses, has been acquired by IBM (NYSE: IBM).

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Led by CEO Josh Rochlin and backed by Acadia Woods Partners and SeventySix Capital, Xtify provides a cloud-based campaign management platform that notifies mobile consumers when new content and promotions are available – helping businesses deepen connections with their customers.

The acquisition will help IBM to expand its Smarter Commerce initiative providing campaign creation, personalized content, real-time segmentation and analytics for all mobile devices and browsers. The technology is designed to help companies engage, convert and retain mobile application users and site visitors.  Together, the two companies will provide marketers with tools to engage clients anytime, anywhere, across multiple digital channels – stores, mobile web sites or other online channels.
