DogVacay.com Raises $15M in Series B Funding

DogVacay.com, a  Santa Monica, CA-based online and mobile pet services community, raised $15m in Series B funding.

The round, which brought the total amount raised to $22m, was led by Foundation Capital, with participation from current investors Benchmark and First Round Capital, and new investors DAG Ventures and Sherpa Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in innovative customer service offerings.

Launched in March 2012 by Aaron and Karine Hirschhorn, DogVacay enables pet owners to find and book a dog sitter in their area for (home dog boarding, pet sitting, doggie daycare). It provides access to more than 10,000 qualified hosts across the U.S. and Canada.
Rates start at $15/night, and all reservations include complimentary insurance, 24/7 customer support, and daily photo updates.
