Songza Raises $4.7M in Funding

Songza, a New York-based music streaming service, raised a $4.7m in funding.

Backers include Amazon, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Lerer Ventures, Deep Fork Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, Troy Carter, Scooter Braun, and Gary Vaynerchuk.

The company intends to use the funds to hire sales people and scale its native advertising.

Launched in 2007 by Elias Roman, CEO, Songza provides an Internet radio service that streams music based on mood and activities instead of a genre, artist or song.
