Salsify Raises $8m in Series A Funding

Salsify, Inc., a Boston, MA-based developer of a global network for product content management, raised $8m in Series A funding.

Backers included Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Michael Skok from North Bridge and David Skok from Matrix joined the company’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to build the team (it is hiring) and create initial networks in verticals like cosmetics and sporting goods.

Founded in late 2012 by Jason Purcell, co-founder and CEO, Salsify provides businesses with a cloud-based infrastructure to create, maintain and distribute product content necessary for e-commerce such as images, specifications, attributes, and relationships.
Customers include companies across diverse vertical markets, such as cosmetics, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
