LearnBIG, a Seattle, WA-based developer of a search engine for educational content, raised $1m in seed funding.
Launched in 2013 by Victor Alhadeff, LearnBIG provides a search engine for free and paid eductional content. Users can review and filter content by grades, level, subjects and standards. It has different formats and include links to games, audio, videos, apps, and open online courses (MOOCs).
The company has just partnered with Sophia.org, an education platform that customizes the way students learn, to search for college readiness, ACT prep, refresher course.
