Goldbely Closes $3M Seed Funding

Goldbely, a San Francisco, CA-based food startup, closed a $3m seed funding round.

The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, 500 Startups, Dave McClure, Tim Draper, Ace & Company and Funders Club.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its platform.

Led by CEO and Co-founder Joe Ariel, Goldbely provides a solution for small local food shops to have a national mail order business, reach new customers, market to them effectively, and streamline the shipping process.

The company, which aims to discover handmade foods from every city in America, tell their story and ship them to customers, includes products from regionally famous purveyors like Katz’s Deli (NY), It’s-It Ice Cream (SF), Salt Lick BBQ (TX), Lou Malnati’s Pizza (IL), Ben’s Chili Bowl (DC) and over a hundred other different vendors. The platform also allows users to recommend their favorite foods to the Goldbely team directly on the sites “suggest a dish” feature.
