Demeure, a Waterloo, Canada-based online travel marketplace, raised $4m in funding.
Backers included new and existing shareholders.
The company intends to use the funds to grow and expand the reach of its marketplace through sales and marketing efforts, and continue to invest in its marketplace management system.
Founded in 2009 and led by Peter Schwartz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Demeure operates a multi-sided marketplace that leverages a proprietary Marketplace Management System (MMS) where travel consumers and suppliers to the industry book travel experiences, list properties, and trade in the market. The company’s patent-pending technology allows owners to trade empty nights in its portfolio of thousands of professionally hosted properties.
