Bugsnag Secures $1.4M in Seed Funding

Bugsnag, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a crash monitoring platform for mobile and web apps, secured $1.4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Matrix Partners, with participation from Jason Seats, founder of Slicehost, and Andy McLoughlin, founder of Huddle. In conjunction with the funding, Dana Stalder, general partner at Matrix Partners has joined Bugsnag’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering division.

Co-founded by James Smith and Simon Maynard, Bugsnag provides provides developers with a cloud-based platform to detect crashes in web and mobile apps, collect diagnostic information and notify development teams of errors immediately over email, SMS or chat. They can use the service’s dashboard to find exactly where and how each error happened.
It was launched in public beta in September 2012.
