Bugcrowd Closes $1.6M Seed Funding

Bugcrowd, a San Francesco, CA-based crowdsourced security startup, closed a $1.6m seed funding.

Backers included Icon Venture Partners, Paladin Capital Group, Square Peg Capital and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to develop sales and marketing operations, expand the team, and support the community of more than 3,000 security testers.

Founded by CEO Casey Ellis and Sergei Belakomen and incubated in Australia’s Startmate startup incubator program, Bugcrowd provides enterprise customers with a technology solution and a community of testers to outsource their bug bounty program and perform penetration testing on their web and mobile platforms.
