RivalHealth Raises $3M

RivalHealth, a Raleigh, N.C.-based preventative health company, raised $3m in capital.

The round was led by Atlanta- GA based Fulcrum Equity Partners, with participation from WRD Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its sales team and mobile and social offering targeted at a schools, corporations and other organizations, after the advancing mobile/social and wellness markets.

Founded in 2010 by Pete Durand, founder and CEO, RivalHealth is a preventative health company offering customized fitness and nutrition programs for corporations, schools and organizations.
Rival Fusion, its flagship offering, is a web and DVD-based subscription service focusing on natural weight management and fitness through exercise and sensible nutrition.
The company has built a presence in both the corporate and education markets with customers such as BB&T, Twinings of London, Park Ridge Health, First Citizens Bank and Washington Local Schools of Toledo, Ohio. It has also entered into a partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina to offer its customized fitness and nutrition programs to Blue clients.
